The Blacktimpad was launched as a limited edition pad, however, it quickly became a huge hit and is now one of insound mallet's main products. This pad is lighter and smaller than The Original Practimpad, weighing only 0.5Kg with a 200mm diameter and 185mm diameter playing surface.
The base is made from polyethylene, manufactured in one piece so its finish is perfectly straight. The pad is made with insound's distinctive black rubber that creates a very similar rebound to a 23 inch timpani.
Unlike the original practimpad, the Blacktimpad cannot be mounted on a cymbal stand and is best suited for playing on flat surfaces or on snare drum stands.
